This is the first drive to utilize IMFT’s new 3D MLC NAND, and it’s also the first MLC product with LDPC error correction. The XPG SX8000 is built on the M.2 X 2280 form factor, and pairs 3D MLC NAND with a Silicon Motion SMI2260 controller.

The XPG SX8000 supports the NVMe 1.2 specifications and connects directly to motherboards via PCI Express 3.0 x4 to deliver an outstanding performacnce 2.4 GB/s read and 1 GB/s write. And when it comes to Random reads, it reportedly hit 100K IOPS, while random writes can hit 140K IOPS.
